The Greek word eikōn means image, likeness, representation. Humanity was created in the image of God, not as worthless material to be despised, but as a living reflection of divine beauty, communion, and love. Christ is the true and perfect Icon, the visible image of the invisible God, and in him we discover both what God is like and what humanity is destined to become.

Every person, however wounded, hidden, ashamed, or disfigured by sin and suffering, remains a living icon: designed, destined, and called to be restored, illumined, and transfigured in Christ.

reGospeled

Gospel, euangelion, is good news: not an invitation but an announcement. To be reGospeled is to have the good news reach the deepest architecture of your motivations, affections, and identity, often for the first time in a thoroughgoing way.

Many who need it are already believers. They live on the far side of the law while believing they are on the near side of grace. Re-gospeling is the patient, Spirit-led work of displacing moralism and self-reliance, and recovering an ancient vision of salvation as union, healing, liberation, restoration, and maturation in the life of Christ.

The gospel we're recovering

We seek a gospel rooted first in familial relationship, not courtroom anxiety; in divine love, not divine hostility; in the healing and restoration of the human person, not the destruction of human dignity.

This doesn't minimize sin. Sin wounds, enslaves, divides, deceives, and deforms, but it does not erase the image of God. The gospel is not that God finally found a legal way to tolerate us. It's that in Jesus Christ, God entered fully into our condition to heal it from within, defeat death, liberate creation, and bring all things into the life and love for which they were made.

Why it matters

Many people today are caught between spiritual hunger and spiritual exhaustion. They love Christ yet feel alienated by shallow answers, culture-war Christianity, or a faith that leaves little room for grief, complexity, or healing. We draw from the ancient and Eastern Christian vision of salvation, theosis, Christus Victor, restoration, and divine love, where salvation is less a change in legal status than the healing of the whole person in Christ.

We do not exist to attack people formed by other traditions; many faithful people have loved God within them. We exist to heal, reframe, and recover the gospel for those taught that God's holiness requires their humiliation, that grace requires their self-hatred, or that divine love is secondary to divine wrath.

The hope of restoration

We are animated by the biblical hope of the restoration of all things (Acts 3:21). This is not cheap optimism; it's a Christ-based hope rooted in the character of a God who does not cast off forever, who devises ways so the banished are not left estranged, and whose judgment is not opposed to love but is love's purifying fire.
